• Reem Toubache, Registered Psychotherapist(Qualifying)

Hello, I’m Reem and I use She/Her pronouns.

You may have experienced events in your life that have deeply harmed you emotionally, physically, or mentally. Perhaps you grew up not knowing what it’s like to feel safe being who you are. These experiences may have left you in emotional turmoil or numb and disconnected. Maybe you blame yourself for what happened. The feelings you are left with may be conflicting and seem uncontrollable.

Trauma’s impact on our lives can be overwhelming and confusing. It’s hard to start the path to healing. If you choose to start therapy with me, I want you to know that I am committed to building a safe and trusting relationship where you feel supported in facing your most painful feelings and memories. I use therapy treatments that have been proven to help based on the latest research.

Working together, I believe that you can process what happened to you, deepen your understanding of yourself, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes. I look forward to being a witness to your growth.

    Professional Experiences

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I earned a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Queen’s University and a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from St. Lawrence College.

I have experience in various community mental health roles, including staffing a local crisis line, supporting university students, and working as a case manager in a residential treatment setting. Across these roles, through listening to peoples’ stories, I have learned that present day crises and challenges are often rooted in past trauma.

I am passionate about supporting people who have experienced childhood trauma, loss of community, and intergenerational trauma. I have completed numerous trainings to deepen my understanding of the lingering impacts of trauma and ways to support clients through difficult experiences.
