What to Expect from Single-Session Therapy
During your 60-minute session, you’ll spend 45-50 minutes directly with your therapist. The remaining 10-15 minutes are allocated for preparation, note-taking, and managing your client file.
Given the approach of solution-focused brief therapy, your therapist may spend up to 10 minutes off-screen consulting or strategizing about your treatment during the session.
Session Overview:
Introduction: You’ll begin by discussing your difficulties, current focus, and goals.
Therapeutic Approach: Your therapist will employ solution-focused brief therapy, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving.
Interactive Approach: You’re encouraged to ask questions and seek information throughout the session.
Benefits:
This isn’t just about venting — it’s a targeted, collaborative space to help you move forward with greater clarity and intention.
Together, you’ll:
Identify and clarify the core issue you want to address.
Gain insight, perspective, and a clear direction forward.
Explore practical tools and strategies to implement immediately.
Leave with renewed focus and confidence.
Next Steps:
Some clients find that one session is sufficient, while others choose to continue. If it feels beneficial, your therapist can suggest further steps — with no pressure to commit.
If we determine that a single session may not fully address your concerns, we’ll provide guidance and connect you with appropriate support.
