    The Perfect Applicant
    • We are building a community of trauma therapists who understand the multifaceted impact of trauma and are passionate healing and inspiring change.

    • SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS:
    • Use evidence-based treatments and understand their importance in trauma recovery
    •  
    • Completed formal training (beyond a university level interventions class) in evidence based treatment modalities. Those with training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are strongly encouraged to apply.
    •  
    • Possesses a solid understanding of PTSD and complex trauma.
    •  
    • Understanding or willingness to engage in psychoeducation specifically around the impact of sexual violence. 
    •  
    • Interest or experience working with families and partners of survivors.
    •  
    • Understanding and comfort supporting neurodivergence (ADHD, autism).
    •  
    • Establish safety and inclusion through an anti-oppressive practice that embraces diversity and is affirming to gender, sexual, relational and cultural identities.
    Absolute Necessities
    • Minimum Master’s level education in a related field – please only apply if you have COMPLETED your master’s level training. If you are currently enrolled in practicum, you have not completed your training. We would love to see your application when you are finished with your schooling!

    • MUST be a registered member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) (Supervision is not available at this time).

    • Able to commit to a minimum of two evening or weekend shifts during which you see 5 clients in person at our office at 130 Spadina Avenue in Toronto.

        • 1) Are you registered with CRPO or OCSWSSW and what is your registration number?
        • 2) Have you COMPLETED your internship/practicum and schooling (completed means that you have finished all of your classes and practicum)
        • 3) What evidence based therapies have you completed training in?
        • 4) Why do you want to work in a trauma focused practice?
        • 5) What days and times are you available to work IN PERSON? Please note, we give clinicians access to our rooms for 6 hours during which we ask that you see 5 clients. Morning access is 8:30 am – 2:30 pm and evening access is 3 pm – 9 pm.

    Trauma Focused Therapist

    New Moon Psychotherapy is a busy psychotherapy practice in Toronto with a focus on trauma, relationship, and sex therapy.

    We are looking to welcome a trauma trained therapist to the team.

    We are currently accepting applications for a therapist who can meet with a minimum of 10 clients a week, in person at our office at Spadina and Richmond.

    There are opportunities to offer therapy to youth, couples, families, and groups.

    If you are a genuine and empathic trauma fighter who wholeheartedly believes that PTSD is a treatable condition and is committed to using evidence-based treatments to guide their client’s recovery, we want to hear from you!
