• Daniel Jubas-Malz, Master of Social Work Candidate

Hi, I’m Daniel and my pronouns are he/him.

Many people come to therapy knowing they want change but feel stuck on how to begin. Uncertainty can turn into anger, sadness, regret, or confusion. We want to speak kindly while maintaining our boundaries and dignity but worry that we are doing it wrong. We want to feel our emotions but are afraid that, if we ever let them in, we will be overwhelmed.

Many of us never had the chance to figure this out and feel ashamed, impacting our health, relationships, and work. I am here to help you with that.

Together, we will work on unearthing and understanding feelings, developing coping strategies, and building emotional regulation skills. Our goal is to understand and change recurring patterns in your life, identify your values and boundaries, and create approaches to navigate big emotions.

I offer complimentary 15-minute consultations to help you figure out if I am the right therapist for you.

Daniel sees clients virtually and in-person at our downtown office space.

    Approach and Professional Experience

My approach is solution-focused, client-centered, trauma-informed, and relational. I work with youth and adolescents, men’s mental health, and grief counselling. My goal is for us to create a set of tools that you can rely on to get you through these difficult times now and throughout your life.

I have been trained in diverse therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have supported diverse communities with their health and wellbeing. I have worked with youth with mood disorders, seniors with financial struggles, racialized and newcomer families, university students, and patients and families in hospital settings. I treasure the trust each person has given me in sharing their stories.

I am completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. I have completed both a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Daniel practices under the direct clinical supervision of Camila Espana and offers a limited number of reduced-rate spots through New Moon Psychotherapy’s Affordable Therapy Program.
