Reclaiming Your Sexuality After Sexual Trauma
Sexual trauma can make a mess of your sex life.
Your mind and body adapted in ways that made sense at the time.
Now, those same patterns may be showing up as:
- Disconnection during intimacy
- Pressure to prioritize your partner’s needs
- Uncertainty about what you actually want
- Going along with sex rather than choosing it
- Feeling out of control or conflicted in your sexual responses
- Avoidance, shutdown, overwhelm, or pain
You might find yourself thinking:
- “I don’t even know what I want“
- “Do I actually like this, or do I just think I should?”
- “Why does this still feel so hard?”
This group is designed to help you make sense of these experiences – and begin shifting your relationship with intimacy.
About the Group
Reclaiming Your Sexuality After Sexual Trauma is a focused, psychoeducational group.
It’s designed to help you understand how trauma may be shaping your relationship with intimacy and begin developing a different, more intentional, pleasure-based relationship with your body, your responses, and your choices.
What We’ll Work On
Throughout the group, we focus on:
- Understanding how trauma shows up in intimacy - and why it persists
- Distinguishing between past threat and present-day experiences
- Developing tools to stay grounded and connected, even with things feel activating
- Clarifying what feels right for you - not what you think it "should" be
- Moving away from obligation, performance and confusion - toward something intentional and authentic
“One of the most impactful parts of this group is realizing that your reactions make sense and that they can shift.”
You will leave feeling empowered, confident, and shameless.
The Experience
Sex Positive, Shame-Free Space
This is a sex-positive space.
We are not here to diagnose, pathologize, or judge your experiences.
Our focus is on helping you build a relationship with sex and pleasure that feels more intentional, shame-free, and fulfilling.
Focused On The Present
This is not a trauma-processing group.
You will not be asked to share details of your past traumatic experiences. Our focus is on understanding how things are showing up for you now and what you can do to build the relationship that you want with your body, pleasure, and intimacy.
A Different Kind of Learning Environment
This is not the fear mongering, abstinence-based sex education so many of us are used to.
This is a space where you can be curious, ask questions, explore things you may not have had language for. At times it might feel thoughtful and serious and at other times, lighter and funner than you might expect.
A Shared Context
This group is for women who have experienced sexual trauma, including sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, sexual harrassment, sexual exploitation, or sexually-focused partner violence.
By creating a space with shared context, we create safety and belonging. You won’t have to second-guess whether your reactions make sense (they do) or explain your history.
Practical Tools You Can Use
You’ll be given clear information, examples, and guided practices to help you:
- Unlearn some of what you’ve been taught about sex
- Reconnect with your body and your preferences
- Explore what feels right for you, at your own pace
There are also optional take-home exercises if you want to keep building on the work between sessions.
Support When You Need It
Even though the focus is on moving forward, some topics may naturally bring up emotions. When that happens, there will be support available in the moment either in a group or individual context.
If you’re unsure whether this group is the right fit for you now, you’re welcome to reach out for a complimentary and private consultation with the facilitator before making a commitment.
