$160 Individual, $210 couples
Hi, I’m Megan (she/her).
You may have spent much of your life adapting to survive – doing your best to navigate what life has asked of you while quietly carrying experiences that feel difficult to put into words. Beneath the surface, you might feel exhausted, emotionally disconnected, overwhelmed by triggers you don’t fully understand, or caught in patterns of relating and coping that no longer serve you, even when you can see them clearly. If any of this resonates, you are not alone, and you do not have to keep carrying it this way.
Many of the people I have the honour of working with have lived through experiences that required them to survive in the best ways they could. Over time, these survival strategies can show up as anxiety, self-criticism, perfectionism, people-pleasing, hypervigilance, or difficulty trusting yourself and others. Rather than seeing these as signs that something is “wrong” with you, I approach them as understandable responses to experiences where safety and support were not available in the ways you needed.
These patterns are often rooted in complex or developmental trauma, including childhood trauma, attachment wounds, sexual violence, relational and family harm, or experiences that were never spoken about. For some people, coping has also included alcohol or substance use, disordered eating, overworking, or emotional withdrawal – ways of managing that made sense at the time and are met with care and without judgement in our work together.
Growing up between Taiwan and Canada, I also carry a lived understanding of how culture and family systems and intergenerational history can shape what is expressed, what is held in silence, and how we make sense of pain. I offer therapy in English and Mandarin Chinese, and aim to create a space where you do not have to translate or minimize your experiences to be understood. You can come as you are.
I welcome you to book a complimentary 15-minute consultation to share what you are looking for and explore whether we may be a good fit. If something here resonates, I would be honoured to connect.
Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and paced by you. I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can understand your patterns rather than define you by them. Together, we explore the parts of you that have worked hard to keep you safe, and how they continue to shape your emotions, relationships, and sense of self. We also attend to how stress and trauma show up in the body, including patterns such as shutdown, overwhelm, or hypervigilance, while building tools for grounding and regulation.
My approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing from psychodynamic, experiential, and parts-based frameworks, alongside skills-based tools to support emotional regulation and coping. I also work from an anti-oppressive and culturally responsive lens, recognizing how identity, culture, and systems shape lived experience.
Over time, many people notice they feel less controlled by triggers and more able to respond from choice. You may begin to trust yourself more deeply, experience emotions without becoming overwhelmed or caught in self-shame, and build relationships that feel more authentic and secure. Life begins to feel guided less by fear or old coping patterns and more by your values and needs.
