Hi, I’m Laura (she/her).

If you’ve experienced something painful or hard to make sense of, you might not talk about it much, but it can still live in your body and shape your day-to-day life. You might feel on edge without knowing why, shut down when things feel overwhelming, or have trouble with trust, intimacy, and feeling safe in your own body. Maybe you struggle to know what you want, question your reactions, feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or feel disconnected from parts of yourself.

I work with adults and youth who have experienced trauma, including relational wounds, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, emotional abuse, early attachment trauma, and complex trauma. I also support clients navigating substance use and addiction, nervous system dysregulation, anxiety and mood-related concerns, as well as challenges related to relationships, sex, intimacy, identity, and self-esteem. Together, we can begin to gently make sense of these experiences and how they may still be showing up in your relationships, your body, and how you see yourself.

Finding the right therapist, someone who feels like a good fit for you, is an essential part of therapy feeling meaningful and effective. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation as an opportunity to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.

I see clients virtually and in-person at our downtown office space.

Approach & Professional Experience

I practice as an integrative, relational therapist, drawing from a range of different approaches depending on what feels most supportive for you. I bring a warm, compassionate, and attuned presence to my work, and am committed to creating a space where you feel comfortable to show up as yourself.

I don’t come into this work with all the answers — I see therapy as something we build together. I aim to support you in noticing and understanding patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, as well as exploring the beliefs and early experiences that shape how you move through the world. Our work may include processing past experiences, building skills to address current challenges, and slowing down to notice what’s happening in your body, with an emphasis on grounding in the present moment. Whether you’re navigating something specific or wanting to understand yourself more deeply, we can move at a pace that feels right for you.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with adults and youth impacted by trauma across a broad range of settings, including refugee camps, conflict-affected communities, and social service organizations, and schools. I have supported people who have experienced significant loss, violence, displacement, profound life disruption, and experiences of starting over or rebuilding. At the heart of this work has been creating spaces that feel safe enough for people to begin processing what they have been through.

These experiences shape how I show up as a therapist. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive care, with awareness of how personal experiences are shaped by broader socio-cultural and systemic contexts. I aim to offer a space where you don’t have to minimize or explain away your experiences to be understood.

I am currently completing my clinical practicum at New Moon Psychotherapy under the direct clinical supervision of Emilia Pacholec. I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots through New Moon Psychotherapy’s Affordable Therapy Program

I feel most at ease in slower, quieter moments—writing, spending time in nature, or getting immersed in books that stay with me long after I’ve finished them. I’m drawn to beauty and craftsmanship in many forms, and enjoy admiring architecture, wandering through galleries, watching independent theatre and film, and surrounding myself with art, antiques, and vintage fashion that feel meaningful. Movement is an important part of how I stay grounded, and I gravitate towards practices like yoga, Pilates, and weight training. I also value time on my own and love the clarity, reflection, and sense of freedom that I get from solo road trips.
