Hi, I’m Julie (She/Her).

I specialize in therapy for adults and teens navigating the effects of complex family histories, relational trauma, and the quiet exhaustion of chronic people-pleasing and self-abandonment. Many of the people I work with grew up needing to manage others’ emotions, stay small, or keep the peace, and carry that pattern into adulthood as difficulty setting boundaries, chronic self-doubt, or a nagging sense that their own needs don’t quite count. These patterns often form in family systems, but they show up everywhere: in romantic relationships, friendships, and how someone relates to themselves.

This kind of trauma doesn’t always look dramatic from the outside. It can live in the body as hypervigilance, in relationships as difficulty trusting your own perception, or in daily life as perfectionism, over-functioning, and a persistent feeling of not being able to rest. I often work with highly sensitive people who feel things deeply and have learned to override their own signals to accommodate everyone else. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, low self-worth, emotional numbness, or a disconnect from what you want, separate from what you think you should want.

I offer a grounded, collaborative space where your patterns make sense in the context of your history, rather than being treated as something wrong with you. My work is trauma-informed and paced to your nervous system. I don’t believe therapy is about fixing you, it’s about helping you understand the patterns that formed for good reason, reconnect with your own values and voice, and build a life that feels more like yours.

Approach

My approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic and sensorimotor therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment-based work, with a phase-oriented approach to trauma that prioritizes safety and stabilization before deeper processing. I draw on Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Relational-Cultural Therapy to support both individual healing and the relational patterns that shape it.

I work with adults, teens, parents, and couples navigating family-of-origin trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the layered impact of chronic or invisible illness. I have a particular interest in supporting highly sensitive people, therapists and other helping professionals, and executives who carry high external functioning alongside internal exhaustion. I provide affirming, inclusive care for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Therapy can be a place to finally exhale, to stop managing everyone else’s experience for a moment and start attending to your own. Together, we work at your pace to understand your patterns, reduce the grip of old survival strategies, and support you in living with more clarity, boundaries, and self-trust.

Outside of work, I’m usually outdoors with my dog, at the piano, or in the kitchen cooking something I’m excited to eat. I love time with my family, and I’m always up for a good cup of coffee.
