Specialized support for trauma, relationships, and sexuality—from wherever you are.

At New Moon Psychotherapy, we provide online therapy to youth, adults, and couples across Ontario. Whether you’re navigating the aftermath of trauma, struggling with intimacy, working through relationship challenges, or seeking to reconnect with your body and your sense of self – virtual therapy can offer a safe, supportive space to begin or continue healing.

    We specialize in working with:

You don’t have to face these challenges alone – and you don’t have to travel to get the care that you deserve.

    Why Choose Online Therapy?

Since 2020, we’ve supported hundreds of clients virtually and in-person – and many now prefer online therapy over in-person sessions.

Why? Because it’s flexible, private, and can often feel safer for those working through sensitive or deeply personal topics.

Clients often share that they appreciate:

    • The ability to speak freely in their own familiar space
    • Comfort in having support animals, cozy blankets, or grounding tools nearby
    • No need to commute or sit in a waiting room when talking about vulnerable topics
    • Access to trauma-focused and sex-positive care, regardless of where in Ontario they live
    • Being able to explore intimacy or trauma-related themes without leaving home
    • Greater ease in applying strategies in the environment where they’ll be used

And, if the idea of online therapy feels awkward at first, you’re not alone. Many of our clients say it felt unfamiliar for a session or two, but soon became a safe and trusted space for healing.

Curious if online therapy is the right fit for you?

We offer free 15-minute consultation calls to help you get a feel for our approach and ask any questions you might have.

    How Online Therapy Works

We use a secure platform called Jane, designed specifically for healthcare. It’s PHIPPA-compliant, encypted, and easy to use.

    Here’s how it works:

    • 30 minutes before your appointment, you’ll receive a secure link by email
    • You can join from your phone, tablet, or computer
    • All you need is a stable internet connection and a private space

If internet is limited where you are, we also offer phone-based sessions. We’re happy to help you find a format that feels safe and accessible.

Is Online Therapy Right for This Kind of Work?

Yes! The kinds of therapy we offer – including trauma therapy, sex therapy, and couples therapy – can be done effectively online. In fact, many clients tell us they feel more comfortable opening up about topics like sexual trauma, shame or intimacy while in their own space, without needing to travel to a clinic or be seen in a waiting room.

    We offer evidence-based approaches, including:

Whether you’re healing from sexual violence, working through relational trauma, navigating mismatched desire, or struggling with trust or disconnection – online therapy can support deep, meaningful work.

While the research supports its efficacy—and many clients appreciate the accessibility, flexibility, and privacy that online therapy offers—we also recognize that some people prefer in-person sessions. If that’s you, we’re happy to welcome you to our space at 130 Spadina Avenue in Toronto (Queen and Spadina).
