Reduced-Rate Therapy with Therapist Interns in Toronto

At New Moon Psychotherapy, we believe that mental health support should be accessible—regardless of your income, background, or where you are in your healing journey. That’s why we’re proud to partner with the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia as a graduate clinical training program.

Through our Reduced-Rate Therapy Program, we provide low-cost therapy offered by Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) therapist interns. These therapists are in the final stages of their training and work under the close supervision of experienced therapists on our team. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, sexual health or sexuality concerns, identity exploration, or life transitions, our highly trained therapist interns offer compassionate, affirming therapy—making high-quality care more financially accessible.

What Is the Reduced-Rate Therapy Program?

Our Reduced-Rate Therapy Program offers reduced-rate sessions with therapist interns who have completed the academic portion of their graduate-level training. MSW therapist interns have also completed at least one prior clinical placement before joining New Moon Psychotherapy.

Each therapist intern is thoughtfully selected based on their clinical experience and commitment to providing trauma-informed, sex-positive, and identity-affirming care. Before beginning client work, they undergo extensive training to ensure they are well-prepared to support the diverse needs of our community.

Our therapist interns bring curiosity, dedication, and a fresh perspective to their work. Every therapist intern works under close clinical supervision of a senior registered therapist on our team. Don’t worry – they won’t be sitting in on your session, but you will benefit from collaborative support, with two skilled clinicians working together to support your well-being.

Looking for a safe, supportive space to heal?

Our therapist interns are guided by expert supervision to ensure you receive thoughtful, collaborative care at a more accessible rate.
